Day 2--full day in the Old City

Sleepless Steve (yes, that is usually an oxymoron!) was wide awake at 5 am and captured this magnificent sunrise!
Then, we headed out to another overlook at Mt. Olive, where we heard the history and context of Jerusalem and Israel, and then the incredibly moving experience of being in the Jewish quarter and praying at the Wall.  We went "underground" (we learned that the wall underneath the wall we see at ground level is really itself above the older city and that the Western Wall, which is the holiest of sites for Jews, is only a fraction of the size of the actual wall built to support the Temple Mount.

Then, just before heading into the Western Wall tunnels to see more of the ancient city and Wall, we ran into Dan Marino!  We saw him again the next day (yes, I am catching up on 2 days at a time, but I am tired so you may not get any more of tomorrow except that preview!)
That's all for now--still have to finish the rest of Day 2, then onto Day 3 and of course, the big event, tomorrow AM.
